Never give up hope. Otherwise it’s hopeless--no?

Indeed! The massed effort alone may cause the Powers That Be a measure of concern.

Not sure of the funding, but according to Friedman, it's run by

I, too have signed on... the idea seems to be viable.. stimulate discussion and develop consensus. If as I suspect, the growth comes from people who are more than lemmings, any... any outcome has to be better than what we have today.
I noted in the sign on to the site... showing ones' colors... that the opinions voiced in the questionnaire respone, were essentially liberal but I think reasonably conservative in the original sense of the word... and with some surprising variances from what I would have expected.
I feel better about trying this, than I did with NOTA, which was a wheel spinner. Frankly, I wouldn't expect much this year or next, but I think the website is on to something, and whether here or in a similar effort... could possibly be a factor in the future.

As of today, I haven't found any of my friends or acquaintances who will sign on to what their party is doing in Washington.

Liberté, égalité, fraternité

Of course this whole thing "could" be a type of poll, to be used in bending public opinion... Numan's note about Kahlil Byrd does admittedly bother me.

I too looked at funding. I also searched Kahil Byrd who I had never heard of and the reference to cushy office made me pause for a moment. However, there are people who are sick and damned tired of The Powers That Be (TPTB) having a stranglehold on the nation. Some of those people have a lot of money, some of those people are, hopefully, Republicans and Libertarians too. You have to enter this kind of thing with a measure of trust, IMHO. We are going to have to shake hands across political spectrum and at least assume that other people are just as frustrated by Washington and Corpgov as we are.

If the effort has any success or as this program shows success there will be serious efforts from TPTB to derail it by sowing seeds of doubt, by attempting to cause factional splits within the movement, by using disinformation to nurture despair when the idea struggles, as it will. If it is viable it will succeed. What other choice do we have at this point? And frankly I like the idea.

...a little more on Ackerman...
link

In all fairness, though the site demonizes him, I'm not sure that he is bad.

We'll keep an eye this anyway.
