It's not too hard to understand why this country's in the shape that it's in. A nation "ruled" by a collection of cowardly corrupt clowns. Joe Let's take your comment as a starting point.... My observation is that many other countries are similarly afflicted... and that our leaders and those other leaders achieved their position through the normal operation of diverse democratic processes operating in different societies. So our problem is not unique... other countries face similar problems and for similar reasons. If there are obvious straight forward solutions, it is puzzling that other countries have not discovered and implemented those solutions. Or, alternatively, perhaps the problems that we and other countries face emerge from common causes that may be somehow endemic to the democratic political process. And, if that is the case, I wonder if the problems are capable of resolution through a democratic process.? I am not expressing an opinion, just asking the question. Ardy, I'll certainly agree with you that the leaders are just as cowardly and corrupt as our "leaders." It's as thought it's one big circus and they're all competing for the title of #1 clown. Besides the US and UK, if you look at Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain, and France, you'll see that the competition is tough. However, there's no point discussing this any further. The Ringmasters are the privately owned central banks and debt based fiat currencies. You believe that the "Fed" is a government agency. It isn't. The solution begins with fixing the debt based fiat money system.

Anyone here thinks that the 12 member congressional Super-Committee is "democratic?" Wait until you see the budget slashing and "austerity" that they'll impose. Both D's & R's will go after so-called "entitlements," while the military budget will virtually remain unscathed. If there are any token DOD cuts, it will be with the civilian employees. Our "leaders" are taking the same road that Greece did and Argentina before with predictably the same results.

' ...the mainstream media in this country is overwhelmingly dominated by just 6 very powerful corporations....
Today, ownership of the news media has been concentrated in the hands of just six incredibly powerful media corporations. These corporate behemoths control most of what we watch, hear and read every single day. They own television networks, cable channels, movie studios, newspapers, magazines, publishing houses, music labels and even many of our favorite websites. Sadly, most Americans don't even stop to think about who is feeding them the endless hours of news and entertainment that they constantly ingest. Most Americans don't really seem to care about who owns the media. But they should. The truth is that each of us is deeply influenced by the messages that are constantly being pounded into our heads by the mainstream media. The average American watches 153 hours of television a month. In fact, most Americans begin to feel physically uncomfortable if they go too long without watching or listening to something. Sadly, most Americans have become absolutely addicted to news and entertainment and the ownership of all that news and entertainment that we crave is being concentrated in fewer and fewer hands each year.
