Sorry about that. There was a problem with the referrer code that was causing a problem with some browsers. I think it's fixed now.

Well that was fun! I registered as nc-stereoman before I read Russ' post and Doug's reply about using my email addy as my username. I sent myself a PM. I feel so, so . . . schizoid. crazy

I really like the way this new board looks and works.

Nice opening, elise. My dyslexic eyes read the credits on the Henry VIII illustration as "turdohistory".

We had a great time at my Beloved's "alumni weekend". Our 10-year-old Asperger boy was captivated by the "chemistry magic" demonstration, asked a very intelligent question and raised his hand to participate in one of the experiments along with a dozen other kids.

If you know about Asperger's, you know what a very big deal that was! smile

So um. Where is everybody?

In 1968, Resurrection City, a shantytown constructed as part of the Poor People's March on Washington, D.C., was closed down by authorities.

The Air Force released a report on the so-called "Roswell Incident," suggesting the alien bodies that witnesses reported seeing in 1947 were actually life-sized dummies.
Coincidence? Pigs go, "Huh?"

Evangelist, n. A bearer of good tidings, particularly (in a religious sense) such as assure us of our own salvation and the damnation of our neighbors.

Watched a documentary last night called Jesus Camp (or Camp Jesus ). Scary!!!

Interestingly, there were exactly two Representatives who voted against AIPAC Israel the Resolution. Both are Presidential candidates. Anyone care to guess? Anyone?

Bueller?

Even more interestingly, there were eleven Rep's voting "present" including (heads up, Philly! grin) TWO REPUBLICANS!

Here's the roll call vote, in case you have any trouble figuring out any of the answers.

Another bucolic day in Los Angeles, this has been a remarkably mild early summer here. Thanks doug for all your work on the transition, and for the custom avatars wink

Doug, elise, and the entire squadron of webcode developers who have been working tirelessly to get us on this new site:

Where's the "not worthy" smilie?

You guys deserve several, at least, dozen - this new board ROCKS! It's so much faster and cleaner than the other, the layout is so good, the listings are so clear, the search function is great! All good, all good!

not worthy! not worthy! not worthy!
