Think of it this way :
Where would American freedom and liberty be if it weren't for people like me? You need people like me, selfless and oblivious to the stings of unmerited scorn, who will persist in telling you unwelcome truths. You need to exercise your flabby American muscles of tolerance, humor and good fellowship. Otherwise, America would be (as it almost is) one vast, cloying drone of self-praise, from sea to shining sea.
I am the grain of sand in the oyster, whose irritating presence produces the pearl of American liberty and freedom.
