Wow, a forum dedicated to Iraq? Why was there no forum until now, when it is the defining issue of our day?

In May 2003 the mission was accomplished.

ignorance is the enemy
without equality there is no liberty
America can survive bad policy, but not destruction of our Democratic institutions

Truthout is left wing? *chuckles* Yup and so am I. Not so far left that I'd call myself a socialist but definitely left of center.
Tin foil hat? I dunno about that, wasn't the stink about something Jason Leopold published concerning Rove and the Plame incident? He jumped the gun and was dead wrong and took a lot of heat for it. Still, they have a good collection of some of my favorite writers(like Englehardt) and a list of headlines often of interest to me. I s'pose I shoulda linked it to Tomdispatch but was too lazy to go there for the link.
Unlike some of you I don't have a television and get my news entirely from the internet, I may visit some news sites this forum doesn't approve of and I apologize for that, I wont link to that site again. I like you guys a lot, I like how you think and how you write, the discourse is civil and intelligent, Doug is one of the best ranters I know of whether I agree with him or not on a given issue. I haven't been around here long enough to know the secret handshake and stuff but I expect you'll be hearing my oppinions for a long time whether they be worth anything or not.

Hey, I dind't mean to seem critical. I think it's kind of humorous too, not that truthout is considered leftist, but that it is considered propaganda.

I didn't mean to do that.

There's nothing new under the sun. This is essentially what happened in Vietnam when old "Strange" MacNamara started emphasizing body-counts - they were the proof that we were winning - therefore, we got body-counts.

Hmmmm I hadn't considered that these high military muckety mucks were just plain old fashioned arse kissers. Stands to reason though since it seems that as soon as they retire most of them speak out brazenly against the CinC, the war, or whatever it was that got them "retired".
