The problem with swamp coolers in climates where they work is that is becomes very difficult to make floating panel doors that don't "blow up" from the extreme seasonal swelling/shrinking cycle. Ambient relative humidity can be only a few percent for months, then shoot up to 80% for months during the swamp cooler time. A 20" panel can move more than an inch and break the joints on a door frame.


You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
