Government requiring a "photo Id " to purchase a common consumer product but objects to the same "restrictions" on voting ? Most curious ! >Mech

Of course, Mech, different governments. And possibly the right to vote is a bit more important?

Not to nit picks, but why is one right more important than others? Shouldn't rights be in equality?

Think about it Rick, would you be willing to give up your vote in order to buy drainer?

The function of the trap is to allow a certain level of water to remain IN the drainpipe to prevent the odor of sewer gas from creeping up.

The vent pipe cannot possibly be located BEFORE the trap. "
And as you may or may not know, most clogs are in the trap itself.

Possibly courts consider protection of the right to vote on a different scale than the right to buy drain cleaner

But that said... presuming that your point is that it is reasonable to ask for a photo ID in order to vote.... I pretty much agree.

I do agree with NUMAN! that drain cleaner for cleaning drains is largely a fraud.

On the subject of photo I.D., I'm not seeing how the presentation of one to qualify for the purchase of drain cleaner or spray paint is linked to the prevention of human injury or tagging.

Regarding I.D. and voting, I am more ambivalent. But given the apparent lack of evidence that vote fraud exists in a way that would be prevented by requiring photo I.D.'s, I don't see the point.

But water down the vent pipes won't clear a clog that's in the trap, sorry.
What works best is actually just a simple small and flexible snake.
Not the big heavy kind used by plumbers...that's the big nuke of last resort.
A small bore, very flexible heavy nylon probe on a reel will do the trick in 90 percent of the cases.

Or you can often unscrew the trap and clean it out in maybe five minutes.

It just occurred to me that in the movies, when you see someone trying to retrieve a ring from having gone down the drain, they take apart the trap under the sink and water spews everywhere... NUMAN! must be on the roof helping!
