There are two scenarios that could shake up the 2016 race: if Romney wins, his VP would become the natural successor, in 2024. If Biden retires, Obama could get a new VP with an inside track in 2016. I don't see either scenario happening, which is why I posed the question. I see many more viable Dems than Reps, though, in the current stables.
