Sandy, I like watching the Westminster Dog Show, but I prefer to own rescue doggies. All of mine have been excellent pets, and I couldn't ask for more loving animals. Lady, Twinkie and Coco are the best! ThumbsUp

I always find it interesting to see what an actual breed looks like. For a companion dog, then a rescue dog can be the best.

In the music world, we all know what perfection sounds like and we can judge other musicians searching for the ideal. Sometimes a pop pianist is good enough but for the rest of us we will judge against Glenn Gould.

There will never be another young Elizabeth Taylor. In my world, no man will ever be another Errol Flynn. Living in the world of musicians; all of whom were fairly famous in the world of jazz in my mother's case a great teacher of harmony at USC. All worked to be the best at something. Mother was a studio musician but had more fun with the Sons of the Pioneers. Can anyone here remember them?

I tried for years searching for the one thing I could do on a par with a great person. I was nearly 60 before I learned that I had a flair for making my actors look closer to the part they were playing. One cannot be the best reader or even the best surfer when the beaches were closed to us in the late 40s. I even tried to have the best bookstore on the Central Coast but the problem was that people were watching television rather than reading for me to be able to support the investment in the building and business. It was never about making money but of achievement to do something better. My entire family is competitive in this way.

I learned that I didn't have to do anything to meet the standards of my family. I simply had to stay sober and never get into drugs. I often furnished bail money for the others. I've outlived everyone else. Does that make me a winner? I don't think so.

Sure. Tumbling Tumbleweeds. Cool Clear Water. To name a few.

Catchy melodies and great harmonies.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Well, Glenn Gould may be good enough for you, but I will judge against Wanda Landowska. · · [Linked Image from i25.photobucket.com]
Almost no one in the world knows what perfection sounds like, since their audio systems are crap (yes, even the multi-hundred thousand dollar ones), and cannot begin to measure up to the audio to which it is my privilege to listen.

"Night Riders of the Sky"? As a kid, I remember "I've Got Spurs That Jingle-Jangle-Jingle," because I could play the melody entirely on the black keys of the piano. Pleasingly pentatonic.

Does anyone remember "You Can Have Her, I Don't Want Her, She's Too Fat for Me"?

Gould and Landowska were good, but Art Tatum is my favorite.
Like Whitney Houston...dead at 48. frown
