A Fox host then cited a new report that "al Qaeda ... is running from Iraq, apparently to Pakistan" Only Fakes News could come up with something so incredibly inane. Trouble is, many of the people watching it will believe that crap without hesitation.

Even President Bush told us of the importance of oil. It was Pres Carter who labeled oil as in our national interest and therefore must be protected to guarantee us our rightful share of oil. The neocon letter of 1998 stated explicitly the importance of oil and also labeled it as in our national interest. The reason for all the interest in the 2001 energy meeting Cheney had with only the energy czars is exactly to have a bearing on how much is oil in our national interest? Did they tell Cheney the oil must flow for the next 20 years? Did they tell Cheney there are no alternatives on the horizon which will replace oil as their cash cow? I say show a little will power ... pay the higher prices at the pump if that is necessary for you .... but find the alternative ... that is what should be in our national interest!!!

It doesn't necessarily have to be the US that bombs Iran. Maybe an ally in the region?

It doesn't necessarily have to be the US As there is only one ally who would even consider that action, you really mean Israel. I believe all of the pundits have considered this and apparently it is out of the question. Their analysis indicates the US will act as proxy for Israel in this matter so as to not involve Israel for political considerations. The US is already exposed so the blowback would be insignificant. The agents of Israel in the US are hard at work to get this on track. (Read the Weekly Standard for the neocon arguments).

Bombing Iran can't help the U.S. either obtain more oil in the short term or positively influence future supplies of oil. Once we bomb Iran, our energy situation becomes more complex, not less so. The supply of oil on the world market will be less than it was the day before. It will only get worse for a long time as we sideline yet another major producer, the Midddle East situation implodes and all Muslims come to hate America. Of course, the price will go up, and maybe that will encourage US oil companies to start refining again. They won't have to continue to create a supply shortage.

Our supposed government is certainly not 'our country' especially the fascist Bush administration we are witnessing today.... Communication is a vital tool in this age of deception, so, I find it important that all participants here at CHB understand the difference between country and its unconstitutional government.... *
