As of today. Yep, it's all bad and getting worse, and as we good RR'ers say..."In my humble opinion." Maybe.... But from what you have said... and what I know of the people I see around me... most people live better lives than they did 60 years ago better cars, more cars, better TV. larger house, airconditioning, eating out in restaurants more often, more people going to college, less racial discrimination, more women's rights, more gay rights.... It just does not seem to me that life is so much worse than it was before the war on poverty.... heck, even rich people have lower taxes

I agree, Ardy. We may be the most spoiled people on earth, complaining about only having a 42 in 3D LCD TV, "only" a 3 year old Honda, our house is not worth what it theoretically was 5 years ago.
Boo Hoo, poor us. BTW that is a bit ironic for those reading this on -- the internet.

I for the life of me can’t believe that Romney could, as if by magic, fail to remember I don't believe him, either; at least 5 of his classmates (6, counting the victim) remember it vividly. I am reminded of the South Park episode where the candidates for a school election consisted of a turd sandwich and a douche bag. The moral of the episode was that it is important to vote, no matter how lousy the choices. I'm having a hard time remembering why, though...

Never have so many had so much. Yet they feel like they deserve far more and that the government is robbing them blind at a time when taxes are at an historical low!

From the outside, I know that seems true.... but I am quite sure that it was more shocking for other people than it was for him.... not saying that he does not remember.... who really knows. I heard a podcast about a similar situation.... a guy went on and on about how he was ruthlessly hazed as a boy..... then the interviewer tracked down the guy what was supposed to have done it.... and that guy had almost no memory of the event, and certainly no memory of the horrible events related by the other person. But, ultimately, I think most of us have things that we are not proud of in our youth
