It is a shame that we have to hear the truth only in fiction.

I hear ya.

About 10 or 12 years ago, Warren Beatty did a movie called "Bulworth". It was pretty wild. It should have brought shame on the entire political system. Maybe even inspire it to change. But as we all know, our politicians have been shameless for some time now.

This show got poor reviews prior to the first episode airing. But I like Aaron Sorkin, so I watched it anyway, and I liked it. My impression of the poor reviews is that they might reflect media's attempts to excuse/rationalize its current disgraceful status.

I saw the first episode. It was fine. I'm not too found of the snap camera shots that many shows use: 30 Rock, The Office, Parks & Rec.

I hope that the show's producers hold that type of photography to a minimum.

Thought Sam Waterston was a shell of himself as an actor in the first episode and that he could do much better and I hope he does in future episodes.

The show is on HBO - we expect great shows from HBO. Hopefully the show will tackle such issues as NDAA, humanitarian-rights violating drone attacks, and presidential approved "kill lists" and assassinations.

You're right Rick. We all know President Romney would never dream of doing such things.

Hijack

Two movies attempted to deal with the deterioration of journalism. Both were reviewed as "light comedy" or "love stories".

I don't know about that. I think Romney would. That's the problem, any president would do those types of things now-a-days. Party affiliation has nothing to do with it.

If Barack Obama does it - any president would do it - except Jimmy Carter - and we all know where ethics and being above-board got Mr. Carter - one term. Hmm

Can we stick to the death of journalism and argue about why you're so bound and determined to hand the GOP the White House in ANOTHER thread devoted to that subject?

Of course every President will do it, because as bad as killing our enemies by remote control seems, every other option is SO much worse. And that includes not killing them.
