Despite the need for that document to be updated ever so slightly there is no chance it will happen within our lifetimes.
Perhaps simply a return to it? :-)

That, I'm afraid, would be equally impossible as Congress has made many amendments and the SCOTUS has allowed a broadening of the original document, including amendments, to cover things never imagined by the Founders.
As much as one might like to return to simpler times I'm afraid it simply isn't possible.
Ultimately however, due to economic collapse and/or climate change, simpler times may return and with them a government and a populace more willing to compromise for the common good. It isn't something that can be forced one way or the other though.
