The only place for collectivism in American government is in areas where the "heavy lifting" is required to solve great problems or achieve incredible advances and where the solution or the advancement would benefit ALL Americans and perhaps all of mankind as a whole.
When I think of great liberal collectivist achievements I think particularly of the great 1960's space race with the Russians. I think of the Tennessee Valley Authority and its Rural Electrification Program.

Unfortunately a very DIFFERENT kind of collectivism is about to be thrust down our throats in one giant bitter pill which we have no choice but to swallow and we won't hear a word about it in the MSM, except at the very last moment and it will be sugar-coated so heavily and simultaneously veiled in shadowy threats so that either one or another majority in sufficient numbers will drown out the national debate in a chorus of upthrown hands which have been conditioned to automatically bleat in sheeple fashion when the right code words are spoken:

"For the children"
"For our security"

After all, only a sinister and unamerican evildoer would dare to oppose a measure meant to ensure stability and protect our children. I am talking about the Security and Prosperity Partnership of the Americas.
In the future, when the entire American municipal infrastructure is totally privatized and our nation resembles a dystopian Argentine nightmare it will fall to the media pundits to blame liberals and to the liberals to blame the conservatives and in this fashion we will lie utterly entangled and unable to lift ourselves from the quagmire.
Our debt money will be so severely devalued that ALL social programs will be forthwith in ruins.
We will find ourselves squarely in the crosshairs of the NEXT GREAT ATTACK on our shores at that juncture.
America will lie in utter shock and disbelief.

At such a point an ubermensch will arise who will project a vision of a utopia in which all foes will be vanquished, all needs will be met, all hungers nourished and all thirst slaked, in exchange for total fealty.

The die will be cast, and the moment will be set.

The message is the same, repeated over and over, until someone finally gets it:

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."
