C.S. Millions of Americans voted to reduce the number of Republicans found in the House and Senate. Many of us have given up voting for any Republican for any candidate. It was the disgruntled GOP that put a majority of Democrats in Congress.
But you persist in blaming the Republicans for the mess we have at this time. Where are the corrective programs and the desire for a less corrupt government? It has been 7 months that the Democrats have held the majority in both houses and yet little has been done to try to control the Bush Administration; lots of meaningless suggestions but nothing solid.
I believe that the GOP was as eager as any group to see Impeachment start against Bush/Cheney but your own leaders have chosen to let them lead in their own incompetence. The Republicans that I know want the corruption to stop and the movement of a dictator snapped in half.
The war in Iraq and the allowing the Taliban to regroup is the result of the House and Senate allowing Bush to have free reign. You have one candidate running against the Iraqi war and Hillary will make a mockery of Obama. I don't see any connection in the Democratic Party to stop the war. When questioned it is a slow and killing position they take, not wanting to make any waves in the White House. I've seen the Senate pass and approve of dangerous Justices with little regard for individual freedoms.
This leaves both parties helpless! When it resorts to insults instead of repairing the problems, we are indeed lost in the power machine that has developed in D.C.
What difference would it make if a Democrat were elected? Would it mean more debt over our heads? Would it mean a cleanup of our Immigration? Would it mean a federal government take over of our school districts? Would it guarantee honest elections? It will change only that the White House would be under another corrupt designation.
The Democrats are fighting an uphill battle called the Christian Coalition. Massive numbers of Christians will be voting without a clue what freedom means other than they will finally write the rules for America. In my opinion it is the most dangerous group we could possibly want as law makers.
Many of us here at CHB want a restoration of decency and honesty in the White House. I have been the most outspoken Republican at CHB for nearly 9 years but I am still grouped by the Liberals here as your enemy. I never turned ugly against the Democrats and have spent time and money trying to locate an honest Republican and finally threw in the towel in 1992 that there was no such thing.
Everything I learned about the Republican values has gone! I would prefer a more limited government as I fear the power found in both parties in D.C. I remember clearly Hillary's plans for new way to educate the children and it was social engineering that made me physically sick. But I'm seeing this growing in popularity of turning over all our American institutions under government control.
In 2006, I made it clear in my letters that the GOP had lost their minds keeping the Congress under the Bush Administration. When I saw who you were running against the GOP members in Arizona, I slipped back into the LP candidates.
At this time, I see little difference between the two parties except for the religious overtones from the GOP. I joined MoveOn.com and signed up with a request for information on every damn Democrat running for office and all I read is for more federal government programs for the people.
There are no more pep talks promising better government, just more of it. Do the democrats even know what upsets the American people? Do your leaders even care that the voters may simply stay home and try to forget the corruption in both parties?
I will have to admit that the Bush Administration has made no effort to listen to the people and persist in lies and manipulations simply because they can. Replace Bush with Hillary and you will get a woman in the White House who will continue the lies and manipulations taking even more freedoms away from the people. The Democrats have the win in 2008 but they will have to sell it!
Even at CHB, I see nothing of value from any of the Liberal people here. To replace evil with zero is not a win but simply a change. I would love to see a woman in the White House but having read a dozen books about Hillary, I would not want her handling our most important issues. Bush simply set up the position of President to be a Dictatorship and it was done under the approval of the Democrats.
I don't know if I'm ready for a Ron Paul President but I am not for any of those silly men running for President under the GOP. Show me why I should vote for a Democrat!
