Why should you vote for a democrat? Balance. The scales have tipped too far to the right. Much as you rail against George Bush and his cronies every political stance you take is right wing conservative,
old school conservative, but right wing none the less. The only change you seem able to accept is a return to the ideals of Goldwater, excellent and admirable ideals, but not available at this time. You speak of balance often yet keep your thumb on the right wing side of the scale lest it should ever tip to the left.
Much has been done in the seven months the democrats have been allowed a voice in congress, and all has been blocked by the GOP.
The GOP eager to see impeachment? Name one congressman who would actively support it?
The war in Iraq and the regrouping of the Taliban is a direct result of Republicans backing George Bush.
You have never turned ugly against liberals? Yet you see NOTHING of value from us, that's kinda ugly, I see lots of value in fiscal conservatives but have turned ugly towards Republicans.
The GOP elected the current Democratic majority? I think not, races were extremely close, republicans voted republican, those with no party affiliation, like myself, turned the tide.
Replacing Bush with a democratic president is replacing evil with zero? Indeed, and you prefer evil over zero? I think that move alone would sway your vote, for to replace evil with zero would at least allow for more balance and a chance to catch our breath and work towards even more balance.
You haven't seen the democrats do anything in the last seven months? Waxmans office alone is handling over 20 corruption investigations, how many were under investigation 8 months ago?
They voted to bring the troops home but were obstructed by republicans. They want to insure more poor children, I know helping poor children is something you wouldn't approve of as it is a socialist(democratic) program but the numbers say it would, in the long run save money and save lives. Not so much a handout as saving money later, would that sway your vote?
More debt over our heads? With the debt currently at nearly 9 trillion, yes trillion, that's 9000 billion dollars in debt. It is hardly possible to drive us deeper into debt. Democrats simply out of necessity will become fiscal conservatives, another reason you should vote that direction.
You've read a dozen books about Hillary, were any written by democrats? Did any approve of her long years of service to the nation? Did you find absolutely nothing in a dozen books that might show her to be a decent citizen and politician? Is she so truly awful that you would cast your vote away to a third party and see one of those silly men the GOP has selected become president? Would you cast your lot with a less than perfect candidate who can win or throw it away in disgust since no republican has shown the cojones to follow your brand of conservatism?
You claimed in another thread not to be a dyed in the wool republican but have been the most outspoken republican here for nine years? You spent time and money seeking a decent Republican candidate, anything but anything to avoid switching parties. Nothing that I or anyone else could ever say would sway your vote towards a democrat, even though you mightn't vote republican nothing will convince you to vote democratic, that ma'am, is a dyed in the wool republican.
