The idea that nothing has changed since the 2006 election is completely bogus. The idea that nothing would be different if any one of the Democratic contenders makes it into the White House in January of 2009 is laughably ridiculous. I'm sorry if those facts seem insulting to anyone, but I can't help but think is an insult to my intelligence to have to read such nonsense.
The Republican Party in its current state is not in the same ballpark as the Democrats - that is the simple and obvious reality. If it makes people feel more sociable to pretend otherwise, well, have at it. I'm not drinking that Kool-Aid.
