After reading American Fascists (the christian right gaining power) and reviewing it this afternoon, I decided to read through this thread. Is there any solution anywhere for anything? In my mind I have to vote D to keep R and the christian right from again occupying the WH. Hiliary Clinton is my choice? She's just another bought politician who makes me sick, especially when she's not baking cookies and standing by her man. Oh, wait. She is doing the latter.
Why is it that Republicans are considered fabulous successes as long as they do not plung the United States into a hopleess, world-alienating war (wait a minute, that is exactl what president Bush did, sorry!). But Democrats are a total failure unless they succeed in solving all the world's problems int he first hour
before they take office?
That is the stadnard the "Democrats are all failures" crowd is using here.
Democrats did succeeed in making progress, within the limits set by Republicans with their veto power, both in theWhite House and US Senate. If you want to hold Democrats 100% accountable, then give them 100% power, as Republicans had from 2002 to 2006.
Or vote for those un-named third party candidates who are on the ballots of every single Congressional district and President, so they can achieve perfection like we had in the Goode Olde Days.
