Thanks, Scout.
If every bone in face is broken, that means his jaw is broken (been there a couple of times). Of course he sounds funny.

He can recover from this.

Get well soon, Doug.

Ouch, this sounds like a high speed inverse cow tipping.
If I ever wanted to hit a cow I sure wouldn't want to hit it face first unless it was cooked and on a plate.

Doug might like his beef rare but I'm sure he didn't want it this rare. eek

I know from firsthand experience what it feels like to have extensive facial injuries. Be strong Doug, soon you'll be back to being your old gorgeous self and you might even be on the scooter again.

And if not there's always alternatives!

Doug,
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Who would have expected a cow? I hope you are well and that your bike is also well. Get well soon.

Douglas,

Any word on how the cow is doing? ;-)

I was amazed when I heard about the accident. The news report is just as horrifying as the news first heard. My first thought was Doug having to face rehab after a horrible accident, with winter being a bad time to get around on broken bones, or even moving with breaks anywhere. I worry little about the cow.

I hope Doug's recovery is swift and total. I think, considering, this could be one of his merriest Christmases in his life. As for breaking out, it probably means he hurts so bad, he just wants to run away from the hospital where pain is too often the totality of experience after accidents and surgeries.

Get well soonest, Doug. violin

Thanks Suze. Good story. That sounds like the Doug we know.

We all know that Doug thinks the world of Amy. Now we know a little bit more about her too. It's easy to see why she means so much to Doug. I am sorry that Doug's accident was a way for us to get to know Doug and Amy a little bit better.

If anything Doug is a fighter and he will come back strong. As Amy said though, it'll take a while for him to recuperate.

All of us who ride have friends and acquaintances who have spent months in rehab. It's a long slow way back. It's good to hear Doug is on the mend. Time will make it better.

My best to Doug and to Amy.

I too thank you Suzy for sharing this news story with us. Whatever we can do to help the Chief through this, will be done. Amy, give the boss our best wishes and wish him a very Merry Christmas.

Good to know that Doug is fairing much better as was insights into his personality. To have the redneck curmudgeon label confirmed with the best part of the story for me. smile
