I am caused to wonder if State Senator Vicki Marble is from northeast Colorado...

Fort Collins is due north of Denver 40 or so miles. It would be somewhere in or near the western part of the NE quadrant. I've not bothered to look and see what counties are pulling this separatist movement stuff, but the rule is:

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

I expect that the Congress as currently constituted would not allow NE Colorado to do this, since it would almost certainly mean two more Republican Senators and the current Senate is controlled by Democrats. Why create two more opposition seats?

Just another another day at Colorado’s Economic Opportunity Poverty Reduction Task Force: talking about reducing poverty by ending the War on Poverty™ (...which is code for 'Welfare Makes teh Blacks Lazy Gimmedats®'), and also talk of fried chicken and barbecue and the science fact that Mexicans need to eat their vegetables so all the children can stop armed robbing each other out of boredom. You know - your usual Wednesday in Northern Colorado.

I sautéed some chicken last night and it got a li'l crispy, but then, I had this overwhelming urge to go armed-robbing. Obviously, Senator Vicki Marble (R – duh...Derp) is correct. And, good thing the panel stopped Ms Marble before she got to pork chops. As we all know, fried chicken is just a greasy gateway entree to pork chops. And once the blahs and browns get on teh pork chops...well, there's just no turning back: obesity and arm-robbery.

Not to mention collard greens and watermelons!

Fort Collins is 65 miles north of Denver, straight up I-25 and is located in Larimer County, where I also reside. It's more conservative than Boulder County, just south of me, but not nearly as right leaning as Weld to the east. (Rocky Mountain NP is located in Larimer) Larimer County is not part of the secession movement, but Weld County is right to the east of it and they are sort of the ring leaders, being the largest of the northeastern counties behind this effort.

EVERYbody is more conservative than Boulder.

I was in Denver working a new restaurant opening back in the late 90s with my ex who worked for said restaurant company. We were in a gay bar near the Rockies baseball park and some drag queens invited us to go with them to a club in Boulder.

They were traveling via a Ryder rental truck. I kid you not! Just slightly after exiting the 25 and heading NW on 36, the Ryder truck pulled over on the side of the freeway shoulder. The back of the truck opens up and these drag queens go scurrying out into an open field off the side of the freeway - to take a pee.

Surreal.

We ended up in a re-purposed movie theater turned rave for the evening. (Hey! It was the late '90s!)

There I was tripping and having an x-cellent time ( ) and there was this str8 guy who was really cute that I was stalking. He called me over and said that I was "wrecking his vibe." I know!

...needless-to-say, it was a total buzz-kill.
