I wonder how Greenland got its name?:-) Yours, Issodhos The second winter he passed in Eiriksholmar (isles), off Hvarfsgnupr (peak of disappearance, Cape Farewell); and the third summer he went altogether northwards, to Snœfell and into Hrafnsfjordr (Ravensfirth); considering then that he had come to the head of Eiriksfjordr, he turned back, and passed the third winter in Eiriksey, before the mouth of Eiriksfjordr. Now, afterwards, during the summer, he proceeded to Iceland, and came to Breidafjordr (Broadfirth). This winter he was with Ingolf, at Holmlatr (Island-litter). During the spring, Thorgest and he fought, and Eirik met with defeat. After that they were reconciled. In the summer Eirik went to live in the land which he had discovered, and which he called Greenland, “Because,” said he, “men will desire much the more to go there if the land has a good name.”] link Marketing is a wonderful thing. It seems that Eirik ruled out recruiting settlers for his new discovery "FrozenWasteland."

Þorvaldr hét maðr. Hann var sonr Ásvalds Úlfssonar, Öxna-Þórissonar. Eiríkr rauði hét sonr hans.
[Snip]
Þat sumar fór Eiríkr at byggja land þat, er hann hafði fundit ok hann kallaði Grænland, því at hann kvað menn þat mjök mundu fýsa þangat, ef landit héti vel.

What the hell. Read it anyway, it's good. A good read only if you are interested in actual data about climate change

What we have here is a case of dogged contrarians who present results in ways intended to deceive the public into believing that the changes have greater significance than reality. They aim to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I believe that these people are not stupid, instead they seek to create a brouhaha and muddy the waters in the climate change story. They seem to know exactly what they are doing and believe they can get away with it, because the public does not have the time, inclination, and training to discern what is a significant change with regard to the global warming issue. ![[Linked Image from aximsite.com]](http://www.aximsite.com/boards/images/smilies/whaa.gif) Say it ain't so!

It's been very hot and very humid for the past 5 days. I was becoming concerned, but then as I was walking down the hall I happened to pass a calendar. The page was turned to August.
Whew! What a relief!;-) Yours, Issodhos

Whew! What a relief!;-) Yours, Issodhos An outstanding example of "thinking inside the box." Or, perhaps it would be more appropriate to call it " not thinking, but still inside the box". The world is limited to my own perceptions. ![[Linked Image from aximsite.com]](http://www.aximsite.com/boards/images/smilies/not_worthy.gif)
