Ah, yes. They are the same, in a fantasy.
As of today, Bush did invade Iraq, based on fishy evidence of WMD, and that has stretched past a decade of war. As of today, Obama did not invade Syria.
Everybody loves to bet, especially when there's no accountability. If the bet is that they are the same, as of today, you lose. I didn't realize that an adverb constituted a "bet." I don't believe this "issue" is off the table yet. Obama's predecessor lied us into war. All but the most ardent neo-cons now realize that. Obama is trying to lie us into war based on fishy evidence that Assad used chemical weapons on his own people (like killing the previous 100k with bombs and bullets was more humane). Kerry couldn't even provide this "evidence" to Cameron in order to sell to the British people, who also have had enough of the lying and endless wars. Syria is just a stepping stone to Iran, which is the ultimate goal. The "two" main parties and their puppets are the same. I won't even ask you if you didn't find Obama asking McCain and Graham for help getting support to bomb Syria, which the majority of the American people oppose, a little strange. War and monetary policy are tied together, which helps explain the decade of war. There is no difference in the policies of the two presidents. Obama has just "out-Bushed" Bush. Both their policies have been disastrous for this nation and the world at large, but good for business- Wall Street not Main Street.

Yet is a sneaky adverb, conditioning a claim of something that has not happened to be likely, or almost certain to happen. But if it doesn't happen, then the claim (in this case that Bush and Obama are the same) falls apart. That claim has been made, but the "yet" hasn't happened. Perhaps the claim that they are the saim should have been conditioned with that lovely conjunctor "if". "If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride; If turnips were watches, I'd wear two by my side: If if's and and's were pots and pans, there'd be no work for tinkers." Unklknown "I'd be witty, I'd be clever; Would they ever fool me? Never! If I only had a brain..." Straw Man IF you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:" Kipling

Ironic that the president that won a Nobel Peace Prize may possibly be the one that triggers the first world war of the 21st century.

Ironic that the president that won a nobel peace for prize for peace may possible be the one that triggers the first world war of the 21st century. Is it ironic because he may be the one? Or would the irony disappear if he isn't the one? To rephrase; are you saying the irony now exists, or that it may exist?

If Obama had attacked Syria, it would have kick started WWIII. Good for business. Bad for people. Hopefully, the agreement that the US and Russia reached on Syria's chemical weapons works.

Notice to readers. Last night I removed a post that I made here earlier by me because I felt it was inappropriate. I also removed all responses that referred to that particular post. In addition, i removed a post that another reader felt directed insults at him and I removed images that one poster had lifted from other web sites and some of those sites sent us copyright infringement notices about improper use of those images.
Please, don't violate the valid copyrights held by other web sites or publications.
In addition, I modified the original column to remove the word that some readers found offensive. I did so in reflection after one reader sent me a private message that explained in calm, polite terms that did not accuse me of being a racist, why some were upset. In retrospect, I agreed with her. Initially, I got stubborn and my back up because of the personal attacks and accusatory tone used by some here.
My apologies to anyone who was offended. My intentions were not to use the term in an accusatory tone but to ask a question. I'm sorry it was misunderstood but I can understand why some were offended and it is a mistake I will not repeat.
