While the Republicans may not have an endgame Obana does.
As I said in another post, it's my guess Obama has that $ trillion coin in his hip pocket, waiting.
And then, it finally dawned on me as I was showering a few minutes ago. That's his game plan. This whole thing is to wrest out of the hands of the Congress the authority to raise the debt ceiling. The refusal to negotiate has been crafted cannily for almost a year.
The very first time the Republicans refused to go to conference committee on the budget Obama had them by the short and curly hairs. And they fell into that trap EIGHTEEN times. Not to mention 40 plus votes to defund Obamacare. It just took a while to get a good grip on the scrotum. But now Obama has only to sit back and wait until the day before the Treasury goes into default.
Then, out of the West (well, west of the Capitol Building anyway) comes a knight in shining armor. "I will save the world from the Republicans. I hold here in my hand a piece for our times." But this time it's a piece of platinum with LOTS of zeros on it. et voila! and if I were Obama I would hold that damned coin up in front of all the world and explain how this is going to work.
