But if the kids were sent here illegally, and they either don't have green card, weren't born in the USA, then wouldn't they have to be sent back? If the "families" they were being untied with are not their parents, how could it be a reunification?
A 2008 law* signed by George W Bush and endorsed by Senate President Dick Cheney which stated that:
"...children cannot be sent back.
Must be held humanely...
Must be released to parents or relatives living in the U.S."
