IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told Time that about 80 percent of charitable groups seeking tax exemption will go through a simplified application process. Groups that report total assets lower than $250,000 and an income of less than $50,000 can pay a $400 fee and fill out a three-page form to automatically be eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
Prior to the change, the application process involved a 26-page form, and required groups to provide supporting documentation and outline their intended activities to be considered for tax-exempt status.
The new process, which Koskinen said will result in “efficiencies [that] will translate into a faster and better review,” is expected to significantly reduce the screening process designed to prevent fraudulent activity on the part of political groups. Huffpo Seems to me this is a perfect way to start small and then pour money into "issue" politics with few if any restraints. The longer this Administration stays in office the worse it gets.

I think some "law and order" posters might complain about this, and maybe a certain "Speaker of the House" might consider it for a lawsuit. After all, the "Executive branch" can't decide "which laws to enforce or not enforce" even if funding to accomplish the purpose of the law is cut for political purposes (e.g., to ensure that government agencies can't comply with Congressional mandates).
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Curious in the whole IRS vs TEABagger Non-Profits that the subject whether they were attempting to skirt the law was never of much interest.

That 22 percent is wreaking an awful lot of havoc.

22% of the population, but 98% of the power structure, including several Justices of the Court

IMO it seems improbable that 22% of the voting population would be sociopaths

I certainly do. I have spent over a year with them in the trenches of Fox News blogs and I believe they truly are mentally ill. They talk about culture wars - they are the culture wars - they invented it.

That 22 percent is wreaking an awful lot of havoc. Somewhat. Don't you think that once folks realize what they are doing, there will be push back against them?
