As Confucius say; Ho Li Shiit... That was Heavenly and Poetic. When it comes to liturgicals, them Pagans is kickin' arse and takin' names!

Not heavenly at all my friend, very Earthy in fact. Atheists need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that a lot of the work has already been done for them. The groundwork has been laid for non theistic fellowship celebrating nature, life, community, and science. I will consider them allies though, in that they are trying to create a religion for the future, much like NeoPagans, outside the stifling, exclusive and tribal Abrahamic "Big Three" which are nothing more than Middle Eastern political inventions intended to control warring tribes and factions using fear of some all powerful deity and offering rewards only to be delivered only after death.

Greetings all this Modraniht. This collection of ten mealymouthed suggestions falls far short of what any thinking atheist should be able to assemble as "commandments" to contain an unruly society. They aren't cohesive nor memorable, drawn from a hat and thrown together without rhyme or reason. Gardnerian Wiccans did a far better job of assembling a bit of liturgy to live by, summed up at the end: Do what you will as long as it harms no one else. The Wiccan Rede

rewards to be delivered only after death That certainly is convenient for the church, now isn't it? Talk about privatizing profit and socializing costs! This is as old as mankind: Some weird old smelly guy got up in front of the tribe and convinced them they should feed him because "Big Bogey Man In The Sky" wills it so. Thus was created the first shaman. Everything else is just a more elaborate version of that original scam.

Kinda makes me think of folks saying "He's in a better place now" after someone dies. Bullshit. In a casket in the dirt or burned into ashes is most certainly not a better place. If you cannot find genuine happiness and true joy before you shuffle off this mortal coil then you are doing something wrong.

Think Mel Brooks and his Moses in The History of The World. He comes down and says : "I have these twenty commandments" and then drops one and follows with "I have these ten commandments."

Do you suppose in 400 years The History of the World will be discovered in a cave and become known as the Gospel According To Mel?

There are actually about 500 commandments in the Torah. I wouldn't want to be an Orthodox Jew. You would spend your whole live worrying about every little detail. One appealing aspect of Jesus is that he summed everything up into two simple rules: Love God, and love your neighbor. Everything beyond that is commentary, as they say.
