I don't have any words... rare for me but I truly don't.

I think it helps to understand what motivates these people. I might have posted this article here before but in case one missed it here it is again. I’ve come to the conclusion they need to be eliminated but that probably entails slaughtering most of them. They are taught this way of thinking in their Madrassas funded in large part by the Saudis. A tangled web indeed: What ISIS wants

incapable of modernization To state mildly. These guys want to go back to the very beginning of Islam in the 700’s. Their version of the 700 Club! They cannot by “law” compromise on anything or they themselves become apostates of the very Islam they favor. They must be eliminated---totally and without mercy.

The 7th century or the 600 club While the article is a good source of background material make no mistake: all the religious mumbo jumbo, and I'm sure there are rubes out there who actually buy it, is motivated by one thing: the quest for power. The West has the money and power, they do not. Religious fanaticism can be an organizing "story" in order to gain favor among the masses. But the real driving force is power which can only be maintained with wealth. However, the West is not sleeping. The military action is only a small part of the offensive. Surely you don't think this is a coincidence: Yes, they must be destroyed. The fact that there is not, nor has there ever been, any real unity in the Muslim world, speaks to their fate. The more they "poke the Lion with a short stick" the sooner they will be torn limb from limb. Ideology is almost always a ploy used by those who want to garner popular support among people who probably can't understand all the hogwash they spew. They speak in images. But they will inevitably be annihilated.

I don't know, Rick,I think most extreme fundamentalists are capable of atrocity.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich
