I'll be the first to admit that early pagans used human sacrifice but even the Romans eventually went to sacrificing animals rather than people.

FYI I completely understand and do not judge them since their belief system was the result of a flawed interpretation of how the world works. One that they had no way of knowing was flawed, at the time.
