The OP here brings to mind one of the oddest creatures of the ocean deeps. It's a squid which has huge eyes that did not develop from, nor do they relate to, the optic tissue that is prevalent in the eyes of all other creatures. Instead, it arises from aural tissue. Named Squidius bogartii, it is known among scientists studying them as the "Ears looking at you squid."

This is a rather beautiful bit of public art that was first shown at Burning Man. The 55 foot tall statue was later bought from the artist(s) and installed at a San Leandro industrial park. Truth is Beauty

Just filled in my ballot. I live in a < 250 person district so we are required to vote by mail.

Vote well, and vote often. The enterprising folks at Science Vs. Cinema cut together various trailers for Star Wars: Rogue One into one super trailer. If you're a Star Wars fan, well worth a look. Rogue One Supercut Trailer Is Pure Star Wars Magic

Now this really does scream Halloween:
"The liberals can understand everything but people who don't understand them." Lenny Bruce
"The cleverest of all, in my opinion, is the man who calls himself a fool at least once a month." Dostoevsky

Really, Halloween?
It always makes me bittersweet about van Gogh's brilliance versus mental problems and cut-short life.

Crazy! I did hear/read a curious thing very recently, where the jurors asked if they could separate out some of the defendants from the others relating to guilt or innocence on certain specific charges. What I understood from that was they were being judged as a group, and not individually. I didn't know that was a legal possibility. Perhaps the jurors felt that they could not convict all of them so they let them all off? ?????
