One of them actually stole a truck from the refuge and was caught driving it somewere else: Not guilty because WTF? Stealing cars is apparently not a crime in Oregon anymore.

That may be a separate case. Bundy's lawyer was actually taken into custody because he instigated a fracas since the Bundys were not released, as they are still pending prosecution in Nevada.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

A note to RR members:

The RR web server needs replacing and we will move the site to a new server starting at 23:59 Eastern this evening. RR will have a "closed for maintenance" status up during the move and until the new DNS is recognized by the 'Net.

My apologies for the need to do so but it is necessary to keep RR up and running.

Doug

One thing has changed - the posting time shown is six hours different from my time. I'm having trouble keeping track of new posts.

I tried changing it in my preferences but it didn't do anything.

Yeah, I noticed something screwy in the posting times. They can be several hours later than current PST and even seemed to be out of order in some cases. The boundary between "some minutes ago" and a certain day and time are strange. It might be better just to use a standard date and timestamp with an explicit EST or EDT label.
