Comey fvcked up his career for nothing.
Not really. He is at the top position he could have hoped to reach and there is probably nowhere to go but out. Now he can claim some of those lucrative board positions or think tank "jobs" Republicans use to payoff their loyalists in high positions.
Or maybe he will run for a partisan office. Now Republicans will see him as one of their own. Not charging Clinton put him in non-partisan limbo, as far as running in the future.
Probably was a smart career move.
