I can't help but wonder if you're one of the nice well meaning folks who are convinced that Trump "would be restrained by the system" from implementing fascism.

I seriously doubt that all of the essential ingredients need for Fascism exist in America today.

Supremacy of the Military:

Also, keep in mind, that Trump read books about Hilter and is fascinated by Der Fruher.

Wake up and smell the manure dear fellow. Aside from Jeff's comprehensive list, just the fact that some 40 odd percent of the country would vote for an authoritarian bigot, who has no idea what government is and who plays on white supremacist chords, should tell you that IT MOST CERTAINLY COULD HAPPEN HERE.

I sure hope it's NOT 40 percent.
I think it is closer to 25%.
If fully FORTY percent of this nation loves Trump and wants him to lead, just defeating his bid for the White House will not be enough.

Hate to say it but if the number truly IS that big, we ARE headed straight toward full out civil war, and NOTHING can stop it.

Think about it! Forty percent of America supports that brand of hatred? That means the United States as we know it to exist today is TOAST. Whatever emerges victoriously from the ashes of all out war might decide to retain the name but it will not resemble the country on the map today, not physically, not economically, not socially and certainly not politically. And it is highly likely that TWO or more new nations will occupy the area currently known as the 48 contiguous states.

And in my honest opinion, no effort should be made to reunite them once that happens, because we no longer have anything in common at that point. Whatever remains of "The United States" will HAVE to be UNITED BY something stronger than mere state borders and highways, and a common language.
And we will be better off WITHOUT them.

Jeff, I really hope I'm wrong. But I am concerned. The results, although I am sure she will win, will be telling as to how crazy the fvking country has become.

Well, I guess we are going to FIND OUT whether or not fascism takes hold because it looks for all the world like Trump is going to be President of the United States of America.
It also looks like the GOP takes BOTH houses of Congress.
It also looks like the stock market is about to experience a crash equal to 1929. So you tell me...far as Trump is concerned, that is all going to be the fault of all the liberals, gays, black people, latinos, intellectuals, AND MUSLIMS.

And he's GONNA MAKE THEM PAY, and so will his supporters.
