Welcome to election day.

Bold early prediction:

Florida called early for Clinton, game over.

They are fairly bouncing off the walls at some of the Rightie echo chambers. Hand wringing, vows to not watch the news until tomorrow, rehashing everything from Benghazi to emails to Vince Foster, "Killery" - the very personification of evil. But the central theme is about the world ending by morning. Only Trump can save us. Very dramatic and emotional, worthy of a 'reality' TV show.

I have never seen lines like the one I saw at 6:30 this morning at my polling place. Thrice around the block. Unbelievable turnout, very diverse and about 2 Trumpites out of over 300 people. Of course two out of 4 scanners not working... mass confusion about which district, etc.
2008 and 2012 were cake walks compared to this.

I took my view from the late rallies. Clinton's was upbeat, huge, and optimistic. Trump was grim. That tells me internal polls were telling a story. Ohio will be interesting, because the weather may depress voter turnout.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Now do these gals know how to stage a protest, or what!

Topless women stage protest at Trump's polling site.

Oregon is entirely vote by mail and has been for about twenty years. It really simplifies the process and leads to a very high turnout. Around 80%. So I am sure the big R’s find it to be an abomination.

Sometimes i miss going to the polls although your comment reminds me to be grateful for our vote by mail. We have many drop boxes too if one does not want to use a stamp.

I'm going to join Shlack's view of Florida for tonight. It will be an early indicator, as 6.4 million votes were cast early, nearly 50% more than 2012. Although votes by registration were only slightly higher than 2012, Dems have a paper advantage of 88,000 early votes.

I think that is deceptive, though, because hundreds of thousands of previous Dem and independent registrations were changed to GOP this year for the primaries (which are closed). Those voters, I think, will skew to Clinton, because the GOP had so many more choices, and Trump lost women and Hispanics in the primary. One survey showed 28% of early Republican voters had voted for Hillary (vice 6% the other way). Florida survey: 28% of GOP early voters picking Clinton - MSNBC.

NYC should have vote by mail, or at least, early voting. This pile up on election day is not conducive to the exercise of the vote.

Here in my little corner of MI, at the polling place there are two precincts; parking lot full about a hundred cars, many walk ins, a bedroom community solidly middle class (lower to upper), diverse. One precinct had a long line, down the hall and starting to turn back in itself. The other precinct, no line, in at 9:45 out at 9:50. Go figure...

Vote 2022!
