Sorry but I never said I wasn't going to vote, I just said I wouldn't vote for the 4 people cited in my post. In New York we have the ability to write in votes which I did. Thank you very much. Your failure to cast a vote just makes mine incrementally more meaningful and important. thank you.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find, you get what you need. Emphasis on try.

I live in New York City and the state voted heavily for Clinton so my writing in someone else had zero, I stress zero effect on the race. The one if only silver lining to this election is that progressives and the Democratic Party can bid the Clinton's and all of their political baggage farewell. While I couldn't agree more that the Clintons need to go (along with a boatload of people in the DNC), but quick. I live in NYC too, and under normal circumstances I would never vote for Hillary, however, these were not normal circumstances. The popular vote - while it may not help elect the president in this case - moves forward an agenda to get rid of the electoral college, something that should have been shut down a long long time ago. So, protest votes have time and place, but I don't think this was either. The dire consequences of this election, I fear, may last beyond my lifetime.

' One commentator remarked that the results of this election will radiate disaster down through geological ages.

At this late date, we can ill afford four more years of Do-Nothingism and bashing of science. .

Maybe America becomes less important on the world stage: Trump is for isolation, after all. Maybe the rest of the world can save the planet.
Do we have to do everything?

Do we have to do everything? Well I guarantee you Russia just became MUCH more important on the world stage. Stands to reason that America then becomes that much less important.

I am still digesting the fact that we just let Vladimir Putin SELECT our president.
