It has ALWAYS been a YUGE issue that Donald Trump has YUGE conflicts of interest that will affect his ability to function as President. Who knew that they would arise so soon: Trump Refiles Suit Against D.C. Over Hotel Taxes. Oh, this definitely of constitutional dimensions. Trump's Conflict of Interest Problem - New Yorker.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Rachel Maddow had a REALLY good point last night... Trump's newest hotel, the Washington Post Office... he LEASES the building from the General Services Administration... and since he's refusing to do the blind trust... AND he gets to pick the Head of the GSA... it's like being able to pick his landlord... AND... how about when a diplomatic visitor says... "I'll be staying at the Washington Post Office Hotel for a few weeks... so, Mr. Trump, how about some quid pro quo when we ask for something...?" but no conflict of interest there...

This will, I think, eventually become his donnybrook, unless he changes his plans. From what I can see he is starting to understand the job he wanted so bad. Now he is talking about living in New York instead of the White House (and over charging gov for the privilege I suspect). There are, however, laws. He is used to freedom but presidents don't have that. He is used to being VERY private - presidents don't have that. Basically, being president, from what I can tell, has just about nothing to do with privacy or freedom (movement as well as all the rest) and a lot to do with power and little else. I am not sure he will be able to deal with it.
The conflicts is a pesky one. I think its mostly common sense. If they actually catch him doing business, whilst president, I suspect he will be breaking the law and, without a blind trust he is laying himself open to serious attack. (if you act in an official capacity to enrich yourself I suspect impeachment will follow very quickly). As far as I can tell he plans to keep running the business through his kids.
We will, of course, find out what happens in the fullness of time?

Talk about making new York a terrorist target... I can imagine Jihadis using a car bomb on 5th Ave.

Talk about making new York a terrorist target... I can imagine Jihadis using a car bomb on 5th Ave. I was afraid to even go there. If that were to happen, you can kiss any shred of democracy good-bye for the next hundred years. We would most likely become a fascist theocracy IMMEDIATELY. NOBODY WOULD BE ALLOWED to question ANYTHING the military junta decides to do.

That is among my greatest fears.

Regarding all of his conflicts, Presidents may be exempt from the ethics rules but there is actually something in the Constitution about not being allowed to accept anything from a foreign government. Many of his business ventures involve direct violations of that requirement.
So he will be a complete prisoner of the Republicans who own The House and Senate: Any time he crosses them they can impeach him and win easily. He has already committed impeachable crimes. In fact, he only has to lose a few Republicans in both Houses because I think we can assume the Democrats would all vote for impeachment and conviction.
