Talk about making new York a terrorist target... I can imagine Jihadis using a car bomb on 5th Ave. I was afraid to even go there. If that were to happen, you can kiss any shred of democracy good-bye for the next hundred years. We would most likely become a fascist theocracy IMMEDIATELY. NOBODY WOULD BE ALLOWED to question ANYTHING the military junta decides to do. You say that as if anyone gives a flying fvck what happens to New York. They don't. Never have. Never will. We are all Jew Commies and N***** and S**** and homos etc.- many a good Christian prays nightly for us to go the way of Sodom and Gomorrah. There will be plenty of other reasons to install a full-blown fascist state, replete with theocratic trim. If anything, they will celebrate the destruction of NYC.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

I believe Republicans/conservatives believe they have an easily malleable tool which they can manipulate to their agenda .... why would they impeach such a prize
BTW since you do not know this .... Mr Trump is a star .... he can do whatever he wants because people will allow him to do it .... just check out his supporters

He's not a star here: 58% of the vote statewide went to Clinton - that includes the counties where news still arrives by drum beat. Not sure about your neck of the woods.

in this small community just outside Houston, the ignorance of my neighbors fueled their support for Mr Trump
now when alerted to all the contrary indicators, they simply say, it is not true, he will build a wall, he will bring jobs home, he will .... and I keeping thinking .... he will continue to frak his supporters and they will like it

Well, our experiences certainly differ. But, perhaps even your smaller community will eventually get tired of being fraked with no pay. It has been known to happen.

It continues to amaze (and depress) me the utter lack of basic knowledge of the Constitution, law, and cultural/political norms that Donald Trump possesses.

Conflict of interest? There is none. Donald Trump's only interest is his empire. To some extent he will be forced to comply with the law but Congress has the power to waive a lot of these for him and no reason not to. Cultural and political norms mean nothing to him. Get used to it folks, things changed when he was elected.

I think in a lot of respects he actually represents the same level of knowledge as his supporters
