miscreants will be emboldened by this reality. Yah, maybe so...but I find it unlikely that any "miscreants' will be seizing Federal property under Trump's watch. Heh...not so fast. They won't be labeled as such. They've already been labeled as "patriots" by the alt-Right. Who does Trump support? Yeah.......................

Proven innocent is of course best.
Wonder if federal agencies will collude to get the Bundys anyway they can. Remember Al Capone and the IRS, no other comparisons with Capone.
I'm worried about the hatred shown the ranchers by parts of the public. Often enough those parts that salute cultural diversity. Why won't they accept people who choose to continue living the way their families have for generations?

Why won't they accept people who choose to continue living the way their families have for generations? You mean as deadbeats who don't pay their bills?

General Motors was bailed out. To big to fail, I guess. Cliven Bundy must fail. To small to be saved. That is a nonsensical statement. What of Bundy's "business" deserves to be "saved", and how does that correlate to GM?

@logtroll The government is not obliged to charge high fares for ranchers upholding a living American culture. They can write it off as a cost of preserving heritage. Just as well as supporting museums, nature reserves and other preservation engagement.
PS. You can call all of it nostalgia, if it makes you feel better.
Clarified missed typo.

I didn't take you for a Socialist, but if you say so.
What is the value in preserving a culture of degrading natural landscapes, BTW? I think promoting a culture of restoring the environment might be better than protecting destruction so that some assholes can pretend to be American icons.

Socialist, ¿que?
If I read one of the articles on the matter right, some people within the BLM confesses that the ranchers make a better job of preserving the type of nature intended to be preserved. Why not let them keep on doing it. Very cheap labor farmers, Americas largest not for profit activity.

Some people say Bundy is not a good steward, including me.
Some people say that there is no case wherein cows can graze arid landscapes without causing environmental damage, including me.
What compels you to have any opinion about it, given your ignorance of the situation?

Doh! I just remembered - the last time we drilled into this issue we discovered that a harsh anti-government ideology was at the root of our disagreement. Nothing to do with laws or stewardship or environmental damage or people not paying their bills.
It's only about rejecting government ownership of land.
