Who says there is no sense of humor in politics. Hell, I would have delivered them directly to Pelosi's front door and let them know that Nan would feed and cloth them.

White House officials have tried to pressure U.S. immigration authorities to release detainees onto the streets of “sanctuary cities” to retaliate against President Trump’s political adversaries, according to Department of Homeland Security officials and email messages reviewed by The Washington Post.

Trump administration officials have proposed transporting detained immigrants to sanctuary cities at least twice in the past six months — once in November, as a migrant caravan approached the U.S. southern border, and again in February, amid a standoff with Democrats over funding for Trump’s border wall.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district in San Francisco was among those the White House wanted to target, according to DHS officials. The administration also considered releasing detainees in other Democratic strongholds.

I think that's an excellent idea! There are labor shortages all over the United States. These immigrants and asylum seekers need to be delivered to where field workers, fruit and vegetable harvesters, lawn care, and domestic helpers are needed most.

Locking them up in detention centers and deporting able bodied workers who are needed all over the country is just plain silly.

But that's Republicans for you.

well of course you missed the point of the "Intermediate Solution". So why is it a joke that Mr Trump would intentionally want to punish political foes? Why doesn't this remind you of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Allende, etc????

Look ... you can say Pres Obama wanted to expand presidential powers by EO's which all had legal arguments to support them, but you have to admit that anyone who occupies the WH and tells subordinates to break the law is one step away from becoming the dictator you thought Pres Obama was.

My God Tim .... wake the frak up

when Mr Trump comes for you because you do not bow low enough or lick his boots shiny enough ... I guarantee there will be no one left to speak for you

I'm pretty certain that they weren't separating simple migrants from criminals, thus this is the equivalent of Castro's Mariel Boat Lift of the 1980's where he emptied his prisons and sent them to the United States.

Mr Trump "promised Customs and Border Patrol chief Kevin McAleenan that he would pardon him if McAleenan were sentenced to jail for carrying out an illegal order"

And as I was just typing a new story breaks. Rule of law? ... not in a Trump America.

Is that OK with you, Tim?????

I think this is a wonderful idea. Trump has no idea how it will backfire on him. (I think this is actually what Kirsten Nielsen was fired over.) Think of all the new voters that can vote against him.... wink

We actually need those people, both to keep social security and medicare solvent and to take care of us when we are finally in nursing homes. I've got a 10 acre ranch and it's killing the wife and I working on it. We could certainly do with some good ranch hands. All they need to know is how to dig and run a weed wacker. Or even better, send a couple so the man can work outside and the woman can cook and clean. And I'm not talking exploitation here. Minimum wage, food, and living quarters. We'll even help them with their naturalization.

And BTW, it takes 5 years before a legal resident (like a refugee) can apply for citizenship. So new refugees could not possibly vote in the 2020 election.

But seriously, folks...

Trump's proposal is asinine, but then, he is a nine-ass. He is a petulant, petty, wannabe dictator, on a good day. Under current law, illegal entry is a misdemeanor. Literally, a citation offense. Yet, a certain portion of the population, including in the White House, can't distinguish that reality from serious criminality (which is occurring in that self-same White House). They can't distinguish asinine from a hole in the ground.
