She did a wide variety of roles, including a critically acclaimed sendup of Talulah Bankhead, on stage but was best known as Mary Richards' sidekick Rhoda Morganstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

She was eighty years young and she squeezed an extra eleven years out of a cancer diagnosis and a three months to live death sentence.

T. Boone Pickens, oil man, corporate raider and philanthropist, died Wednesday at age 91 of natural causes.

T. Boone Pickens, the ‘Oracle of Oil,’ corporate raider and billionaire philanthropist

Quote
“Yes, I’m for Donald Trump,” Pickens declared in May 2016. “I’m tired of having politicians as president of the U.S. Let’s try something different.”

I guess we'll never hear if he remained satisfied with his choice.

T. Boone Pickens
Quote
Now, don’t for a minute think I’m being morbid. Truth is, when you’re in the oil business like I’ve been all my life, you drill your fair share of dry holes, but you never lose your optimism. There’s a story I tell about the geologist who fell off a 10-story building. When he blew past the fifth floor he thought to himself, “So far so good.”

That’s the way to approach life. Be the eternal optimist who is excited to see what the next decade will bring. I remain excited every day, engaged and thrilled in the office and on the road. I thrive on that activity, and I'm going to stick to it, no matter the setback. And I am grateful to have such a strong support network that makes it all the more easy.
Thanks T. Boone Pickens for being an optimist!

Well, we're all going to die in the end, so I think you need to think that way. I'm not saying you should not plan for the end, but it's just silly to say: "Let's get it over with."

RIP Eddie Money - 1949-2019

His grandfather, father and brother were NYPD.
Eddie went through the training program but changed his mind and hit the streets from the very beginning as a singer, moving to the SF Bay Area in 1968.

He died this morning from complications of Stage 4 esophageal cancer and a recent bout of pneumonia from a recent cardiac surgery.

While I can't say I was a dedicated hardcore fan, a couple of his songs are part of the soundtrack of my life so he'll be missed.
