Jeffery... Thanks for the reminder... am getting old, and have been drifting around the internet... memory problems Miss the politics, and no one in our CCRC will even talk about government... all watch Fox during waking hours. Hope to come back and relieve some of the pent up frustration. It's grinding my teeth down. Regards to all...

It's been a little slow but I intend to fix that. As Belushi said in "The Blues Brothers", "I'm putting the band back together!"

Welcome home, Its! All our dental work is suffering from the tooth gnashing and jaw grinding this administration openly encourages. I look forward to hearing your take on the current economic situation. I'm thinking Trump will trash the economy before the next election and cement the bloodbath I'm predicting in 2020.
Good coffee, good weed, and time on my hands...

I sure am getting a lot of calls with nobody on the line. It happens nearly every day. I suspect it's robo-calling from boiler rooms, but no scammer is available to take the call.
I think we should discourage this by making it expensive. By law, change all commercial phone rates so there is no bulk rate. Every call cost them a dime. I think businesses would be a lot more careful so they only called when someone is ready to talk. You could still have unlimited calls on cell phones and private land lines.

Not sure how that can be implemented on business VoIP services. I mean, I am sure that it probably can be but good luck getting VoIP services to implement it without a huge fight. What needs to go away is the whole "spoofed number" bit. If a business calls you it should not be able to spoof a number, or block the number. The displayed phone number MUST be a real number with the ability to call it back and that number must be owned by the outfit doing the calling.

Interesting TED talk about turning desert sand into productive farmland: TED Talk Researchers from Norway figured out how to make nano-particle clay they could dissolve in water and just dump on sand. It penetrates deeply, so then you can add fertilizer and seed. Their process takes 7 hours from sand to a planted wheat field! The fungal mat you need for most plant growth thrives in this stuff.

Will it work on areas which aren't exclusively sand but which have been "desertified" by climate change? PS: Instead of using biodiesel for desal, why not use photovoltaic?
