Yes, Smoot-Hawley did help cause the Great Depression. But for a long time tariffs were our government's primary source of income. I am someone who believes that government is a necessary evil and that the taxes to fund it interventions by it should be as small and rare as is possible.

But your all in with the ICE Gestapo raiding homes and tearing people from their families. Your totally down with locking children in cages to keep other people from coming here. You were fine with Gitmo and waterboarding, illegal wars overseas, trade wars and religious laws. No intervention is too big as long as it's a Republican Authoritarian doing the intervening.

Government is indeed necessary. But it is only as evil as the people you elect.

What a crock of s***! You believe what you are told about Republicans and do not question it. You claim to be an independent but when you regurgitate BS like this you show that you are very liberal Democrat.

Never denied being liberal. But Democrats are really a little to much like Republicans for me to much approve of their nonsense either.

So you have a problem with ICE raids on undocumented immigrants?

Did you call for the closure of Gitmo like I did? A stop to the torture? A stop to the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

You got a problem with kids in cages and tearing refugee families apart?

Didn't think so. Republican policy speaks for itself. No one has to tell me anything about Republicans. In fact, if they told me all this was true I wouldn't believe anyone could be so greedy and heartless.

The only "authority" you question is that of the government to make you pay taxes. Otherwise you're pretty much okay with shooting black people in the back. Forcing women to bear the children of their rapists. And supporting the rights of school shooters everywhere to murder children at will. The Constitution practically demands all this. Authoritarian Republican policies certainly demand it.

Republicans cut your taxes.

They are taking food from poor children to pay for it.

There is no plausible deniability here.

No, I don't have a problem with our immigration laws being enforced. They are not undocumented immigrants they are illegal immigrants. Your semantic BS does not change the fact the people ICE is arresting have broken the law.

No, I didn't. The people in Guantanamo Bay are there because they are terrorists who are not covered by the Geneva Convention. The use of torture is wrong but unfortunately has been done by or government and the use of it has stopped. The Gulf War started when an international force led by American troops was sent by Pres. George H.W. Bush, with the consent of Congress, invaded Kuwait to remove the Iraqi army's occupation of it.

There were children in cages and families being torn apart during the Obama administration. So what is happening is not a Republican policy. But being the liberal Democrat that you are you can only see something is wrong if it happens during a Republican administration. So can the BS claim that you are not a Democrat. Your phony, pious, and hypocritical claim that you are not a Democrat does not have any credibility.

Like I said. You're totally okay with all those authoritarian policies.

Jackbooted thugs and all.

Children going hungry to pay for your tax cuts.

The Grinch had a bigger heart.

"Authoritarian policies?" "Jackbooted thugs?" The people in the detention centers are people who were trying to enter our country illegally. Those detention centers were built in 2014 by the authoritarian Obama administration.

The children in the detention centers are eating better than they did when they were in home countries. So that comment about children going hungry is more of your liberal BS. Your indignation about the detention centers is as phony as a three dollar bill!
