I needed a new roof, and I really wanted to make it solar. I really like the Tesla/SolarCity integrated roofs but: a) I can't get them here, because they only lease, and b) my house is like the worst solar location in the neighborhood. I have lots of big trees (even a sequoia) that shade the house all day. That's the trade off.

All the mounting hardware manufacturers make hardware for tile roofs. I guess the hard part is finding somebody to install it. Rancho Bernardo in Sand Diego County is all tile roofs by HOAs, and LOTS of them have roof-mounted solar. You may have to shop North San Diego county installers.

I was actually sorta thinking about a back faux patio cover arrangement to be honest. I don't have enough back yard to install enough so I'd still wind up with a few of them in front anyway, but it would be a small number in front, maybe six panels max.

But our place is pretty open to the sun, as you can see:

Some Flor-i-duh Evangelicals gather on Jacksonville Beach Pier to pray Hurricane Dorian away.

Mebbe if they blow hard enough, they can blow the hurricane back out to sea. smile

Isn't that how mystical, magical thinking works? Hmm

For P_I_A:

Quote
Police were called to a Popeyes in Houston, Texas after a violent confrontation β€” over chicken sandwiches.

β€œAn armed group of people rushed the door of a Popeyes Chicken restaurant in southeast Houston Monday night demanding chicken sandwiches,” KTRK-TV reported Monday evening.

- ABC 13 - Houston

Are they really THAT good? I guess I'll have to try one. smile

I had a chicfilet sandwich once. It was awful. If the Popeyes sandwich is a lot better it could still be awful.

Publix Fried chicken on a Hawaiian roll with remoulade sauce is best.

Careful, some of those ammo-sexuals might show up at Publix now!

And in other news, two pastors wives got into a scuffle that ultimately erupted in gunfire.

Kinda reminds me of the infamous Jonesboro Church Wars of the 1930's in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where Karen and I once lived.
