Andy Beshear ran on guaranteeing the Affordable Care Act with the expansion of Medicaid/Medicare for all - and this won in a red state.
People of all political stripes want better healthcare. If I'm not mistaken Kentucky had an excellent program until Bevin was elected and systematically dismantled it. This may well have been the reason he wasn't re-elected.
Pretty sure that Kentucky never had a good healthcare system and they saw Bevin as standing in their way of having one.
As I recall, ALL Republican run state governments rejected the expansion of medicare and to form state exchanges back in the day when ACA passed.
