Trump makes unexpected visit to Walter Reed to get a "head start" on his February 2020 annual exam. Is Trump laying the foundation for a "medical exit" from the WH? Let me tell you something about "Walter Reed" (formerly Bethesda Naval Hospital) and presidential visits. Pardon the wordiness, I have to give some background. ~~~~~~~~ I grew up on East Parkhill Drive in Bethesda and could look up the street and SEE the tower of the Navy Hospital and I could HEAR the choppers warming up, taking off and landing. Our house was less than 800 feet from the grounds of the base. I can actually SEE the homes in my old neighborhood in the upper left corner of this image. There were only TWO KINDS of helo traffic to "NATNAVMEDCEN", either Marine One and its escorts, which were all single rotor jobs, or the Chinooks, which ferried wounded soldiers from Andrews AFB. Thus, 99% of the time, I heard Chinooks...all day long. And there's no way to confuse those Chinooks with Marine One, they sounded and looked completely different. And we kids were maybe the only non-military people who could tell the sound of a Chinook from two miles out, it's very distinctive. Also, whenever the POTUS went there for the annual physical, it was ALWAYS after New Year's, or in early February, and when POTUS goes to NATNAVMEDCEN, you cannot turn left out of the old hood, go up Cedar Lane and turn left on Wisconsin Avenue because it is closed off at Cedar Lane and Wisconsin Avenue for the duration of his visit. The local news ALWAYS made a point of letting everyone know in advance. And doctors who lived in our neighborhood and worked at NATNAVMEDCEN would be picked up and dropped off by military plain gray wrapper cars from the base during those days. Across the street you find NIH and the National Library of Medicine. Access to those places is impossible as well, plus there was always a phalanx of security, military and support vehicles hogging up one of the main parking lots across the street. So, a Saturday "physical" in November??? Never happened ONCE the entire time I was growing up there. So, is Mr. Trump preparing a plausible excuse to exit the White House? Quite possibly. Watch this space for several more unscheduled visits.

Thanks for your perspective Jeff. Fatso...erm, Donald Trump, is said to have been having "chest pains." Probably a panic attack most likely. It's not everyday that a POTUS goes through an impeachment investigation.

It's not everyday that a POTUS goes through an impeachment investigation. I got nuthin for ya Rick except to repeat what others already said: All that sedentary lifestyle, all those insomniac hours tweeting on the golden crapper, all that Diet Coke, all that KFC, all those Big Macs, all that ground up/snorted up Adderall, sumpin's gotta give at some point. But then again, I suppose most of us thought one night with a paid off porn star hooker/strumpet and lying about hush money would be enough to finish him off, didn't we? I suspect most of us are also surprised to realize that former VP Cheney will most likely live to see his hundredth birthday now that they managed to secure his Darth Vader implant. The Donald might outlive us all. Let's just make sure he does it within a 10 ft x 12 ft cell for the rest of his miserable life.

I think Cheney's artificial heart will outlive him, until somebody remembers to shut it off. That thing has to be hard on your cerebral arteries. Stroke time?
I live on a hill overlooking Camp Pendleton Marine Base, and they have a bunch of helicopters flying every day. You can always tell the Chinooks, from miles away. Nothing sound like one of them. That's a minor annoyance. Much worse is the mortar practice that seems to run into late night. Not to mention they keep setting the damned place on fire and this is a red flag high fire risk area.

I saw American History X over the weekend. First time I've seen the movie, which was released 20 years ago. I found the white supemacist rhetoric eerily familiar to today's rightwing rhetoric - especially coming from the Trump Administration. It's almost as if Stephen Miller has made the movie into a graduate school thesis.

>President Pelosi
If only: The Senate might have a Come-To-Jesus moment and replace Trump with Pence. They would never convict both and throw the Presidency to Pelosi! Even if they felt the need to get rid of Pence, they would do it Nixon-style. Get Pence to resign "for health reasons", and then replace him with some good centrist Republican unconnected to the Trump fiasco. Like Romney. Then get Trump to resign.
