My ex and I got along quite well, once we no longer lived together. We had a very amiable divorce. Once the judge believed I wasn't trying to pull a scam he was delighted. She would even come over for a quickie when things were scarce in the romance department, and dropped by to show me her new boobs. I honestly don't think that was a ploy: I always liked her before picture. I just stopped seeing her as per the wishes of my girlfriend/wife.
Oh hahahaha I actually did have an ex-girlfriend who did that a few times. (1984-85) Apart for oh I guess about a year and a half, suddenly she shows up and blammo we're in the sack.
"I forgot how good you were"
(Oh thanks...yeah ditto.)
But I guess we left it up in the air because I didn't start thinking more was forthcoming or that we'd patch it all back together. She did that a couple-three more times over the course of the next year and then suddenly she had a new boyfriend and this one, she married.
But I had also just met Karen, her older sister married my older brother. In between these sneaky trysts, Karen and I dated for a brief period, but alas she had already joined the Navy and off she went, boo-hoo poor Jeffy.
And then came Linda, my first wife, the one who got me the Leon Russell editing job, which ultimately became the glue of my life in many ways.
Sadly she pulled up a lot of baggage right after we married, my first but her second. Her ex did a number on her bad and I guess when we made our vows, in her head I must have turned into Barry. It went downhill fast after that.
No contest divorce but it took almost eleven years to track her down. She just passed away about three years ago, horrible circumstances. She never outran her drug demons like I did, sad to say.
