The California Republican is facing federal corruption charges he looted campaign cash to finance vacations, golf outings and other personal expenses.
He told KUSI television in San Diego in an interview that aired Monday that he is changing his plea to protect his three children from going through a very public trial.
“I think it would be really tough for them,” he said. “It’s hard enough being the kids of a public figure. I think it’s time for them to live life outside the spotlight.” (More at link)

Duncan Hunter...Have I heard of him? if he didn't want his kids in the spotlight maybe he shouldn't have committed crimes while running for public office. Or run for public office at all. Apparently he was corrupt from the start and had no intention of ever serving as anything but a corrupt grifter sucking at the teat of the US government.

Duncan's behavior was just horrible: Not only was he spending campaign funds on bimbos, but his wife was spending a lot of that money as well on luxury items. Then despite knowing there was all sorts of evidence that made conviction a sure thing, he ran for Congress again! And the idiots in my district elected him!!!
That's proof right there the Republican Party has turned into the Organized Crime Party.

I think he has also cut himself a REALLY good deal. After all, he only plead guilty to something like 60 different charges! I also notice that there is talk of a Trump pardon "to save the expense of housing him in a prison".
This makes a strange kind of sense. Trump, for instance, is doing all he can to offset the trillion dollar debt due to the "biggest tax cut in American history" or the Trillion dollar giveaway to the upper 1%. Another example is cutting food stamps. One can only wonder what comes next!
