Does anyone truly believe that none of Trump's misconduct would ever have come to light if no FISA warrants had ever been issued?

Emolunemts is a tough case to prove (and it is going to be even tougher in court), ergo it was not included. Likewise the case for obstruction of justice (as a salient stand alone item) from the Mueller Report.
The current set of allegations is clear cut. Mr Trump did indeed leverage WH meeting and military aid for investigations into the Bidens and 2016 election theories. And it is clear he did obstruct Congress in their mandated impeachment inquiry. I'm not sure that emoluments would be hard to prove. It was a feature of controversy when he ascended to the Oval office. Wasn't there some guy whos in charge of ethics that resigned over the lack of any enforcement with the president? I think the american public knows a ripoff when they hear one. A ripoff's a ripoff no matter what the lawyers say. You may get the same results as the foreign arm twisting foul being called on the president currently but at least you could get public sentiment on your side. This current effort plays like lawyer porn for most people I know. Another problem is you have to have an opposition that's not doing the same kinds of rip offs. Time will tell if this democratic strategy will backfire and mobilize the presidents base for him. That would be another backfire in a string of em.

Looks like San Diego based One America News tried desperately to help Rudy, in some very alarming ways...like trying to secure visas for corrupt Ukrainians. “I can confirm that One America News Network did attempt to secure a number of visas for former Ukrainian officials to travel to the United States, including Olekesandr Onyshchenko,” network president Charles Herring told The Daily Beast in an email. “One America News Network made the request prior to Mr. Onyschchenko being detained. One America News investigative efforts have cost in excess of $100,000 to date.” It didn't work out the way that they wanted...(insert sad trombone here) because the Germans just arrested him.

Once it was deemed okay for Trump not to divest from Trump Org then all bets were off as far as any money that ran through any of his properties.
So many things we thought were "the law" turned out to be just just "tradition".
And as we have all learned, Trump is not a traditionalist. Even the Supreme Court has put a stop to anyone seeing his tax records. Trump's finances are private and they will stay that way.
Good coffee, good weed, and time on my hands...

You also get to argue in the court of public opinion. Handy going into an election, provided the public is interested.

Senate Republicans are convinced at this moment in time that the only reason Democrats are "able to get away with overturning an election" (their words) is because of some supposedly illegal FISA warrant, thus they are arguing "fruit of a poisoned tree" therefore "impeachment invalid". They are still arguing process. So, let's pretend NO FISA warrant ever got issued, right? Forget all about FISA and anything it produced. Is anyone seriously under the impression that everything Trump has done would not have triggered an impeachment?

If (When) the Senate fails to convict Trump on "Obstruction of Congress", they will be admitting they have ZERO enforcement power for Congressional subpoenas...
Inevitably, Trump will demand investigations of Hillary, Obama, Comey, Mueller, Schiff, Pelosi, Hunter Biden and anyone else his conspiracy addled brain tells him was behind the impeachment...
What will the GOP do when the above named people tell the Senate to "go **** itself" (citing the new precedent from the impeachment) when they send out subpoenas...?

It's interesting that they are not charging with him with any of Mueller's 10 counts of Obstruction of Justice. Is that so he can be charged criminally when he leaves office without any appearance of Double Jeopardy? He's actually done a lot of criminal things, and they are not charging him with any of those. Is this a longer term strategy?
