My fond hope is that Trump gets to wait forever for the impeachment charge. This allows Trump to be impeached yet doesn't let the senate even weigh in. So, Trump can't make any claims of being absolved and it just hangs there forever. If, however, do nothing Mitch actually allows the top tier witnesses they actually may be able to prove an ongoing criminal conspiracy. I suspect we will know that if they give the witnesses immunity.
I believe, incidentally, that Trump actually believes he has done nothing wrong! He believes this because he has been doing this kind of stuff for so long he actaully thinks he is right. My fond hope is that he actually gets a bit of education on that.
Anyway, either way, I am a happy camper!
Interesting thought. How would the House impeachment vote be considered if the articles are never transmitted to the senate? With legislation, the House can pass the bill, but if it is never sent to the senate, the bill or legislation is dead. Pretty much like it never happened. More in line with a resolution. If the impeachment articles aren't transmitted to the senate, the current session ends, wouldn't it be more in line with a resolution, an opinion of the full house on Trump rather than an impeachment which technically never took place. The technically is the process wasn't completed by the house. They had one last step in the procedure which as of yet, they haven't completed.
I don't know. It's like I want a bonfire. I get the wood, stack it up, pour gas onto the wood. But until I light the match and throw it on the wood to ignite it. I don't have a bonfire, although I did everything needed except the last required step.
It's all semantics anyway. If the house doesn't send the articles of impeachment over to the senate, is this an official impeachment or an unofficial impeachment? I know, I have way too much time on my hands to think of things like this.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
