If Bolton does not testify and waits until he publishes a tell all book, he should be charged with obstruction of Democracy. Penalty ... ostracized to Iran. I don't get Bolton. He hates Trump like poison, but he insists on doing this little dance. Perhaps he's just incapable of doing the right thing without being coerced.
What can we do to help you stop screaming?

Do I need to point out that Bolton is a Republican? Probably describes himself as a Classic Liberal. He will not be the one to bring down the Trump Regime.
Donald Trump just tied with Obama as most admired man this year.
Republicans have absolutely no reason to convict Trump. He's popular and well loved within his party and by his voters. If Obama was impeached on such flimsy charges Democrats wouldn't have convicted him either.

Flimsy????
Sex in the WH is flimsy. Solicitation of foreign influence in an election is criminal.
I expect Republicans to honor God above the Constitution. I would hope Democrats would adhere to the Constitution first and foremost.

Bolton was, in large part, responsible for the second war in Iraq and the removal of Saddam. That entire event is considered one of the more corrupt events we have ever been involved with. As an example an army sargeant was assigned a task of taking a pickup load of money someplace and turning it over to somebody else. Nobody ever found out who that was or who ordered it. The money was some that was returned to Iraq due to court order (it was their money from American banks in cash). This means that somebody stole a pile of cash and, with the help of the United States Military was able to get hands on it and then go up in smoke. One should also know that by the time we were done with that second war with Iran OVER 200,000 Iraqis were killed. Oh, and we made promises to the Iraqi army, which we did not keep, which means that those 200,000 were killed without a military opposition, ie. we just slaughtered them. The army we broke promises to later became the military arm of ISIS.
Oh, the second Iraq war also saw wholesale torture, by Americans. Lower echelons were forced to make Muslims do bad things and then take pictures (cameras supplied by Army). Then, these low echelons were sent to prison for doing what they were ordered whilst those that did the ordering were never even tried. Our government eventually moved all torture to our Guantanamo Bay detention camp and out of the public eye.
This is a very long and very sad history. To get the facts you really have to dig in the internet. Little things, like the Congressional hearings on postwar corruption, seem to have just gone up in smoke. Bolton had much to do with much of this stuff.
Oh, this happened during the last Bush administration but BOTH parties were involved and both get to claim part of the blame. This being a fact I think that they both, in the end, agreed that the best thing they could do was to make it all go away (with the connivance of media) so, these days, nobody talks much about it.

Flimsy. As in not likely to result in conviction. That other one didn't wind up with a conviction either.

Flimsy as in sex in WH is not an impeachable offense.
Not flimsy is having a substantial set of facts which would convict an ordinary citizen. The Democrats have a damning circumstantial case which would be compelling ... if the story is told right.
However always remember .... Mr Trump can shoot people indiscriminately, say stupid stuff on WH lawn, etc and no Republican will say a thing. The case has to be so compelling Trump supporters will be so stunned they can not respond ... just drool.

The case has to be so compelling Trump supporters will be so stunned they can not respond ... just drool. That's right, and this one isn't. Chief Justice Roberts might be sitting on evidence that would do just that. He'll rule that the subpoenas may go forward in June. By September someone might get a look at the tax returns. By March of next year some irregularities might be found. And some people may be forced to testify in regards to the current impeachment. But all that is too little too late. And Republican Roberts knows that.

We'll see. The Court already announced they will decide in June. If the subpoenas go forward then, the House would get all the documents and testimony could start right then. It wouldn't take weeks for an issued subpoena to result in testimony or documents. Mazars already said they had Trump's accounting data ready to deliver. They could do that in one day. Nope: I think the shiz is going to hit the fan in June, one way or the other.

Republican Roberts knows that A bit cynical I would say. I really don't think politics is his particular motivation as much as the Constitution. While he may view the Constitution from a conservative perspective, he will follow the law. I think there is unwarranted pressure to impeach due to political considerations. So think about it ... should no witnesses be called who can provide 1st hand knowledge of the conspiracy now, the Democrats have an opportunity on Jan 7 to file subpoenas to compell testimony from Bolton, Mulvaney and others, so by 2021 the legalities should have wound their way through to the SC. At that time and with compelling testimony, the House can file impeachment charges again with an ironclad case i.e. a confession. While I would like to see Mr Trump get back to his golf courses (or Russia), we have a process to follow. Annnnnd ... maybe the politics of hate will fail and we elect a Democrat.
