I am told that if Trump can get another term most of the stuff against him many would have run out past the statute of limitations. This would absolutely get rid of the stuff with 7 years under the statute of limitations.
It has been suggested this is one of the reasons Trump is REALLY determined to get another term?

He needn't worry too much. It's pretty unlikely they'll pursue charges once he's left the office. He'll move to Florida and be dead in a few years.

In another twist, apparently OMB will not release under a FOIA request some 40 emails between key players. One can only speculate these emails must have some really damning words in the body of the message.

The problem with that idea is that he keeps on committing crimes. Limitation for crimes like Obstruction of Justice would not run out over the course of one more term, since he's doing that right now. And that's assuming he suddenly stops committing crimes. I don't think that is likely either.
His best hope would be to win reelection and then drop dead before that term is up.

Either he's ready to let Trump off the hook because of the Iran thing, or he thinks the war is inevitable now under anyone, and so now he can get payback on Trump for Trump back-handing him.

I think this may be higher than one may think. I suspect there is a handful of Republican Senators who are not willing to leave questions unanswered about Mr Trump and his Ukraine Conspiracy.
This is of course not the same as the actual vote for conviction. These same Senators may see this as an act worthy of censure but not conviction.

I think Bolton is ONE Republican who values his integrity.
